I have a 58 Johnson 35 hp that has 2 hose tank.I also have another tank given to me both are steel only the other tank has one line. Any way to hook the othe tank up to the line so I don't have to keep filling the one tank? Open to suggestions..Pickupmn

Many trucks commonly have 2 fuel tanks. Maybe you could look at the setup there for ideas. Just keep in mind that it gets a lot more complicated and dangerous if you start putting things below deck. Almost all boat fires and explosions involve gasoline or gasoline fumes so you probably want to go with a proven solution. Let's see what others have to say.

Pickup, You have the choice of buying another two-line hose on ebay or at a junk yard, or retrofiting the motor with a fuel pump from a junk yard and getting another single line tank. Just so you know, my '58 Johnson 50HP used single line tanks and a fuel pump.

The fuel pumps used on a lot of J/E motors mounted below the carb with three screws. They had vacuum hoses to the transfer covers, and glass sediment bowls. I would look for a spot under the carb to mount the fuel pump, and then check out a junk yard to get one.

Re: gas tank question?

Thanks chris and bay.. I have a extra tank its just a single line steel tank I got for free. If I find the piece that screws to the top and has the pump on it and is a 2 liner I would be in business. I'm sure there as rare as hens teeth though.I guess there is no way of putting a tee in the fuel side 2 line on and running the single line to that is there? I mean it would still be getting air from the 2 line tank and gas from both or would that work? anyway thanks agin..pickupmn
