Hi everyone I have to replace the sending unit on my onboard tank .....now this sending unit is the capsule type as i mean there is a small capsule about 1 inch diameter in the top of the tank , you can take it out with 3 phillips screws and it has a plastic covering and was wondering can i buy just the capsule or do i have to replace the complete sending unit???? gauge checks out okay

If it is a Tempo tank, west marine has the capsule

Kent.... I knew I had a couple left in stock so I took a look. The ones I have are the capsule type (Mirax) that operate via a magnetic turn type float operated arrangement within the tank. These show the fuel level in the capsule themselves, and also have the connection which leads to a dash mounted gauge. However, apparently it isn't the one you need as it only has two screw retaining holes, not three.
