A million things to think about with this rebuild. I have a question re: venting my tank.
I purchased a 40 gallon below deck tank that I plan to mount above deck in front of the console. I also plan to build a "seat box" to cover it, which I'd hinge so it would flip forward to fill the tank. My issue is the vent.
Scenario 1) run the vent hose under the floor and back up to the factory vent into the splashwell, looping hose higher than the outlet to prevent water from entering.
Question: with the vent hose running from the tank to a level below the tank, the vent will choke the tank, even though it will be higher than tank level back at the vent.
Scenario 2) from the tank, vent hose goes up above tank level before going back down under the floor and to the splashwell as described above.
Thanks for any input you can give.
