My boat is going to be kept outside this winter. Other than filling the gas tank to decrease condensation should I also add Dry Gas to it or just leave it alone and don't add anything ?
I have had it winterized.

Re: Gas tank

All you need is enough fuel stabilizer for the amount of gas in the tank.

If it's already full and kept sealed tight...leave it alone.

There's no harm in using StaBil I guess...I don't like it personally...just don't like the film it leaves in Mikuni carb bowls/jets...but hey if it makes you feel better use it. I've never seen the need for it in gas only stored 6 months though.

Re: Gas tank

I wasn't considering StaBil, I was referring to Dry Gas with brand names such as Heet. It keeps water out. I use it in my truck during the cold months.

Isopropol alcohol (Dry Gas, Heet etc) is not recommended for outboard motors. In addition if you are already using gasoline with ethynol, you do not need to add more alcohol. Fuel Stabilizer is recommended by some.

BTW, The dry gas does not keep water out of your truck's fuel system. It does absorb water so it can be burned and it won't clog up the fuel passages.
