Gas tanks rusting, re-lining fails @6mo

Those with the 2 hp Johnson, did your steel gas can get rusty? I have that problem and tried 3 different tank liners and none of them worked for more than 6 months. I am trying to find something else because there are no cans available. Does anyone have any ideas or find something that worked for them?

POR 15 and tank kreem are the only two I have used with any success.
