We were out on the ocean the other day and i could not get the engine to start. We hadnt run our 1987 yamaha 115 for about a month and towed it two hours to take it out on the ocean. I went to prime the bulb and all i heard was air. I could not get any gas to pull which meant that there was an air leak somewhere. I changed out the clip since i noticed the clip on the gas line was leaking. After changing it out it i again could not get it to prime at all even though i no longer heard the air leak. After finally switching out to another clip and running it for a while, it seemed okay. For some reason it just did not sound right when out on the water. It seems to be shutting off more when im idling now then it used to. I have tuned up the engine and changed out the fuel water seperater and it still seems rough. Not sure why the gas would not prime and how it all of the sudden developes an air leak when everything is brand new and ran great all season so far. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
