Getting ready to put the new head gasket on my 35hp 2 cyl. 92-95 Johnson. When I rebuilt it last year I used Johnson gasket stuff for it like it said in the manual. I was wondering what you guys use. I can't see on the old gasket where any water or exaust leaked on it and was wondering, if the exaust gaskets leaked...could water enter the cylinder? Common sense tells me no since the eaust is forcing it away from the pistons but where else could I get water in the cylinders? Especially both at the same time?

Leaking exhaust gaskets is a very common way to get water in the cylinders. Whatever the manual recommends you use, you should use. That being said, I've always put the head gaskets on dry. None of my manuals recommends any goop for those.

Water can easily get into a cylinder from a leaky head gasket. When the cylinder is moving down to intake new gas/air it creates a vacuum and will pull in water if the head gasket is leaking.

I thought it was crank case pressure that fed the fuel on a 2 stroke? Has anyone ever taken a leaky head gasket off a 2 stroke and not seen any "tracks" of exaust burn or water intrusion?

It is crank-case pressure, but the pressure pump is the pistons. They'll suck pressure out of anyplace nearby, including a water or air leak in the head/exhaust system.

And yes, you can usually see where the head gasket blows if it does. Depending on how the exhaust gasket comes apart you can sometimes tell that too. If you've got water intrusion, and no obvious sign of a blown head gasket, suspect and replace the exhaust gaskets.
