gasket sealer

i have a 1955 evindrude 7.5 and i am replacing the gaskets. the manual calls for number 1000 gasket sealer. I looked for this at the autoparts store and no one had heard of it. what do yall use? thanks

Just as a point of information, Sealer 1000 is no longer made. The replacement for it is a Scotch product, #847, available from Evinrude dealers.
However, for the use you are proposing most any gasket sealer will work just fine. It is not that critical
