So last summer I did some maintenance.. Bellows and such.. Anyhow when replacing the OEM gasket I noticed that the Aftermarket gasket was different... It wasn't cut out for the little inlet seal.. I went ahead and replaced it with the aftermarket Serria one..

Well now I gotta remove the outdrive to make some checks and now I am thinking I will Pick up a couple of those OEM gaskets and seals to keep on hand cause there isn't much of a price difference...

I was wondering how come the aftermarket is different.. Does the aftermarket seal off better or something? Seemed kinda weird to install the inlet seal on the backside of a gasket, but that how I did it:confused: I guess I will know how it all turned out after I drag it off.. Seemed to work fine lastime I was out.. Picked up water no problem and didn't overheat... Here is some pictures

Re: Gaskets are different OMC

I've used the Sierra gaskets with no problem, the most important thing is to clean the mating surface well and coat the gasket on both sides with OMC gasket sealer or equivalent....
