For a 1989 Force 125, where can I get these gaskets for the LU plugs?
I have been using the small blue ones but don't like them. ( They are supposed to be the correct gaskets but they really get flattened when tightened). Yes, I change them every time I change LU lube. I was a little concerned with the look of the lube last fall and want to be certain I have a good seal. And to rule out the possibility of leakage at the plugs.
Where can the best gaskets be found?

I can't tell you where to get the large plastic washers but I can tell you what I use. I have been using teflon tape on my engine as long as I have had it and my lower doesn't get water in it. The first year I did this, I checked for water every week as it was an experiment. Since then, I change the oil every season, clean off the old tape and add new tape.

John

You are using the correct gaskets and procedure already, Greg. They are supposed to crush when tightened and not be reused.

JB, yes I agree but they fit loosely around the plug and tend to "sqwish" out unevenly when tightened leaving one to think your not getting a good seal. Maybe I'll try two on each plug........who knows.

Well at least you're using the correct screws too. I just found out that I've been draining & refilling my 85hp from the "pivot pin" screw. For three years now! WOW, am I lucky or what. I didn't even know the drain plug is directly underneath the LU & kept asking the tech why he was giving me three washers & not two plus a smaller one. This local shop gave me two blue's & a smaller one one time so I figured I was doing this Right the past few years.

LOL real loud if you want
