I have a 40hp outboard on my 20ft pontoon and it has no gauges at all. I do need a tach and was wondering about the need for a tilt/trim gauge. Are they needed on pontoons as much as boats? Is the sender for the tilt/trim in the motor or do I have to install it? And does anyone have a wire schematic for a tach hookup? Any recommendations on where to get the items mentioned? Thanks!!

The modual of controler you have will dictate just what you will need to hook up a tach, as you will need a wireing harness for that control do do the hookup. The rilt trim gauge is not realy needed unless you opperate the motor in shallow water often in my opinion. Most motors hav to havethe sender for the tilt trim put on the motor along with a gauge for the dash if it was not equipted with one when bought new. Yoiu can go to the web site for Faira gauges and serch there for just what all is involved in the installation of gauges and senders for them. JMO

It's a 2 stroke. A tach is a must because I know the prop was off something else. I want to get it dialed in and get the most outta the little thing! Thanks!
