Gauge Refresh

Searched for a answer and didn't see it. I am changing out my gauges. I have a 89 19 foot rienell 4.3 with OMC Cobra lower unit. Put in new Faria SS white gauges. They look great and all seem to work great except the Trim. It doesn't move. Old trim gauge works fin so my sender must be working. Any ideas on what might be wrong?

The gauge doesn't work with that sender.

Re: Gauge Refresh

They sent me a new gauge so I will try that. From what I could find on the intranet the gauge I have is the match for the lower unit I have. Can you just switch out the sender on a cobra without major cost or work? I boat in some mudholes locally and I need the trim gauge to work and be accurate. Major boating vacation next week. Worst case I can put the old gauge back in i guess.

Ohm range wise, you mean? Those OMC senders are skeeeetchy. They're in a bad spot for exposure. Wiring may have been on its last legs as it was and a gauge change was just enough to kill it. Hopefully not, and you just got a dud gauge.
