Gauges - Recomendations

I am going to be replacing the gauges on my boat. I currently have the regular run of the mill - speed, tach and battery. My motor is a 1969 Mercury Thunderbolt 800. I plan on putting in the Sierra model gauges. Besides the ones listed before, are there any suggestions? IE: water pressure, tilt ect... The motor does not have a pressure sensor as far as I know. Thanks and any information would be appreciated.

Sincerely,

Water pressure gauge is ok to have. They tee in at the tell tale fitting on the block. Usually all the necessary parts are included in the kit.
Fuel, Tach, and voltage are the most important.

I'd love to fit a tilt guage one of these days. I can pilot the boat and play with trim during hole shot, straights and in turns. But when I want the SO to tow me on the tube I first have to play with the tilt to get a happy medium cause she doesn't want to "fiddle" with it. She just wants throttle and go, and the steering must be light.

Re: Gauges - Recomendations

I have a quick Q regarding Tachometers.

Are there such things as 2-Stroke and 4-Stroke tach's?

Or is it one size fits all?

My motor is a 2-stroke and my boat has no gauges, so before I head down and buy a run of the mill tach I'd like to make sure if there is a specific one I'll need.

Thanks!
