Hi Guys:

Forgive me, but my guess is you mean "Gravel" guard. I also think you mean the thick sheets of a polymer like substance attached to the bottom of river boats. In the Fraser River most of the jet driven purpose built, welded aluminum river boats have it attached to run sand bars at very low water. I can't imagine why a person would need it for any other reason so I guess it works for that!

Bedliner is not really recommended since it has been known to separate, slows the boat by creating drag, and makes any future repair a nightmare.

What Bob said. If you do a search you'll find many threads on this topic. The general consensus seems to be that it's not a good idea for many reasons.
