Hey guys is there a way to search old posts? What kind of gear lube do I use in the lower unit? The 80-90w says for 75hp or lower

You should use good gear oil SAE 80-90W. Avoid 80-90W EP style cause the additives in EP gear oils can affect the brass bushings (red metal) in the LU.
Marine grade gear oils are not cheap and I think there are some other additives then auto gear box do not contain.
Oil typs and brands can be discussed for ever which one is the best and so on.
BUT I have read in a Castrol brand data sheet about their gear box oil for cars (do not remember which typ it was) and in the very last sentence it was written "sells in smaller package for outboard gear cases".
Personaly I use auto gear oils, but I check and change it every autumn if there are water in it.
Choice your own brand and typ.

Any brand marine gear lube.

But NOT type "C".

Walmart usually carries a couple brands, $7-$9 per quart.

So is the 80-90w sea is ok? Its gold silver marine grade at walmart... but it says on it for motors 75hp and below... mine is a 125hp... will it still work? The guy at the boat shop told me to buy the 95w sea but it was $15 there

The Mercury or Yamaha gear lube is probably the best.
Myself I use automotive 80-90w and change/check it often.
