what kind of gear lube for my 1985 johnny 45hp commercial? stupid question, but we don't have an omc dealer in town. just our local hardware stores.

Especially if you use your motor commercially, the Evinrude HPF-XR or HPF-Pro gear oils are the very best you can use.

Don't use a hypoid 90 as that is not strong enough. See a dealer or find one online that will sell to you.
