Hello to all. I have a 09 Bravo 1 I just noticed a flood of gear lube on my top cavatation plate and my resorvior almost empty. I can see a stream coming down the hose from the outdrive end. I totally emptied the resorvior and it seems to have stopped. Is the valve on the housing bad? Could there be break in the rubber hose where it attaches to the housing? Is this even possible or is it a bad upper seal in the o.d.?

What hose? the speedometer water hose or the oil line hose. Can you take a photo and try posting it?

Do you see any oil next the rubber bellows are?

Sometimes if someone is work in the bellows area, item # 1 can break and spill oil to the outside of the boat. http://www.mercruiserparts.com/Show_...tor+Components

Also item # 22, http://www.mercruiserparts.com/Show_...c=Bell+Housing

Item 16 transfers the oil from the reservoir to the drive.

It's the hose that seems to be attached to the valve assembly. I can't take a pic. Now. But I can see it when I trim up the drive from under the boat with a flashlight
