Looking for other solutions to stop leakage around my quick connect. I have replaced the o-ring on the nipple, can't see anything that could go wrong with a 2 year old quick connect? Has anyone done away with the quick connect and connect the hose another way?

why sure... though the quick connect is only 2 years old, removed once to replace engine coupler (nice project that was). I will have to order it online... if there is a better way that will last longer I am all for it.

Sorry if I'm not understanding, but removing the quick connect isn't normally done when replacing items on the drive or motor. You normally just remove the hose on the back of the bell housing and on the drive side, it to is not removed.

Does it leak once the drive is installed on the housing?

The engine coupler ( attached to the fly wheel) went out do to a bad engine bracket. The engine and drive had to be removed. My gear lube reservoir is mounted on the engine. i suppose I might of been able to take the reservoir off and set it aside. I thought it was easier to disconnect the hose with the quick connect and remove it all with the engine.Everything is back together and runs like a champ! Thanks for all the help on this forum. However it is leaking from the quick connect now. As stated before not sure why disconnecting it once will make it leak. The quick connect and the rest of the gear lube assemble was replaced 2 years ago when I took the drive off to replace the gimbal bearing. broke the nipple off that goes through the transom plate, so I replaced both pieces. If there is another way great! Otherwise I will order another quick connect.
