gear oil 80hp merc

i was wondering what gear oil to buy for a 1972 mercury 80hp 800 4 cylinder 2 stroke? Thanks to all

Any oil which meets gl5 spec in 80w90, and most suggest spending a little more for the "marine grade" which purportedly has additives to deal with water intrusion common in the outboards environment. I use walmart lower unit oil in qt bottles. About 4 bucks.

KJ, Use any marine gear oil for mechanical shift motors. Buy a qt and buy a pump to put it in. Do not use type C gearoil.
