Danny, You might tell us what motor you have, and what parts you bought. There is a seal under the warerpump base in most engines. Whether you bought a new seal is not clear w/o info on the parts.

Bummer..unfortunately there are a couple places that water can intrude. The driveshaft and propshaft are both sealed and when water gets in it is usually from those places. You might be lucky and water may be coming in from the fill and drain hole gaskets. Any milky color to your LU oil is not good....

Danny, On Mercs the base of the waterpump has the driveshaft seal. They are easy to replace.

On your Johnny, the seals are under the waterpump base plate, inside the bearing housing. I have not had the pleasure of replacing one of these seals, but according to my OEM service manual, you need to pull the propshaft and bearing carrier, and remove the nut on the end of the driveshaft and pull the driveshaft to replace the seals. Boy I hope this is not the only way. Maybe there is a way to just pull the bearing housing.

Hopefully someone will come along with better advice.
