Gear oil in u joint bellows

Hey fellas,

When I was removing my outdrive, I found a whole bunch of clean lower unit oil (gear lube) in the u joint bellows. I know it leaked in there when I changed the water impeller and filled it back up. So what do I need to replace?? Now that I have to do the transom I am want to do everything I can to the outdrive before it goes back in.

i think leaking gear lub into the bellows is usually caused by a bum front seal of the drive. usually caused by a rusty yoke that eats up the seal. the rusty yoke is usually caused by water intrusion into the bellows at some time in the past or present...
