Gear Oil

I recently bought a new 6hp Johnson. There is however Gear Oil leaking out,not alot but if i Leave it over night a couple of drops will hit the Floor. Is this normal for new motors? Should i take it back to the DeALER? aNY ADVIVE will be a great help?

Huh.. no thats not right. I had a 4 hp Evinrude that I used to store horizontial on the floor no leaks. And it is gear oil from the gear case? Now unless your keeping it stored upside down I would say no thats not right. see exactly wher the oil originates from so you can explain it to the dealer.

Are you certain it's gear oil, not just a bit of unburnt 2 stroke residue? Does it smell of petrol?
