Gear question Alpha 1

My 205 V6,-86/87 No. 0A651138 does not have a shift interrupt switch installed. Do all the Alpha one outdrives have this installed? The engine runs on low idle, så the shifting have been no big problem.

Another problem. I just got the boat, and after some slow and mid-fast testing I tried the max speed/rpm. On it's way up, it suddenly went out of gear. After this the shifting became hard. After disengaging the cables on the bracket and 'working' those a bit, they suddenly became quite smooth again. Do I only have an adjusting problem, or is there something wrong in the outdrive? Have not checked the adjusting described in this forum yet.

Yes, all Alpha I drives have shift interrupt switches. Without them, the dogs of the clutch and gears will be worn out and it will start slipping out of gear very quickly .......... Hmmmmmm sounds familiar doesn't it.

Yes it does. But I thought it did not happen when heavy load if it does not when shifting and idling etc. But maybe I'm wrong. Can the adjusting be wrong so it does not engage enough in forward, or is it either 'in' or 'out'? I felt that I had to push the lever a bit long before it engaged in forward, and the gas-wire started move immediatly(reving up)..
