I purchased a used out drive that had been bolted to a 350 chevy. 225 or 230hp i believe. It had a gear ratio of 21-16. Can I use this drive on my 302-190hp which had a 21-19 ratio and compensate with different prop. These are omc sringer drives

I do not see why not. From what I understand most drives are set up for groups of motors. Like V-8, V-6, 4 cylinder, big block, small block etc.. The 350 and 302 are in the same group (small block V-8). As for that 302 or what the kids call a 5.0 you could easily build it up to get 230 hp out of it with couple small changes and you already know the drive can handle it. You are right, you may have to switch props but before I bought one I would take it out for a ride.

If that's a 302 "Z" motor from the 70's era, you can get about 300 horses out of it...VVVVROOOOOMMMMM!!!!!!!
