I have a 1991 16' conquest with a 3.0. It has a Alpha one Gen II outdrive, the lower unit froze and busted and I need to know what the gear ratio is so I can get the same outdrive?

Yes you can change ratios but go to far and you will not be able to prop your boat back to normal rpm. What ratio do you have? Is this the same boat that leaks?
You need an upper with a 1.98 Gear ratio, other ratios are for bigger engines and will not work very well, even if you change props. That is why there are so many different gear ratios.

yes this is the same boat that is leaking ( i guess when it rains it poors...lol ) i didnt know if the gear ratio was decided in the upper or lower drive.
ok so any alpha one gen II lower unit will work on my upper drive?
