Good evening!

I am curious as to whether or not a set of '62 John. Selectramatic gears are the same as the gears on a manual shift. Are they just put on the coils with the three set screws but still have the dog clutch form on the inside or just a "whole different animal"? Any of this make any sense? 'preciate any feedback as I have no parts manual to check. Just a repair manual. Thanks

Re: gear sets

The electric shift gears are completely different from the manual type shift gears. There is absolutely no way that they would interchange.

At best you might be able to change the entire LU but but you'd have shifter's and other connections to worry about...

Thanks Joe,

I figured as much, couldn't be that lucky to have a good set that would work in a manual shif with no wear on the dogs! Oh well. THANKS! And glad to know you are not a stranger after all!
