gear switch

I just notice that the gear switch that helps pull the outdrive out of gear when you go to neutral was disconnected could that be the reason the boat when I go to neutral it cuts off it was dark so I didnt try it I will tomm. to see if that helps it.

well i had another post about engine not idling when I go to neutral it will only start up when I have it full throttle or close to it.then when I go to nuetral it cuts off .

its an alpha one and the engine is a 4.7 mercruiser.

Since there is no such thing as a 4.7, did you mean a 7.4, or a 3.7, or a 4.3 maybe?

Assuming you are talking about the shift interrupt switch, I have no idea why your engine dies. If the switch was hooked up and working, and you had a defective lower shift cable, that would cause it to die coming our of gear.
