Hey guys,
Love this site btw and just decided to join after visitng these forums a long time.
My problem is i just bought a 74 9.9 johnson and i am tryin to figure out where the shift linkage is. I have read numerous forums on motors jumping out of gear and the "clutch dog" is the prime suspect but also read that the shift linkage could be adjusted and save some headache.
The motor only jumps out of gear when it is all the way down, because when it is in shallow drive it will not pop out of gear. When it does pop out i can just move it back into drive with out any force or resistance thanks in advance for any help =)
