Fellas,
I have finally got my outboard put back together and want to give it a try on the hose... ONE problem!
When putting the lower unit back on I realized 2 of the 4 gear housing screw holes need to be tapped as one goes in and just spins in place and the other I cant even get started down in the hole... The other 5 bolts are in good and hold the lower unit on very well to where I cant budge it. I would like to hook the engine to the hose and run it and make sure everything is working before I take the lower unit off again that way if anything is wrong I can fix it while I have it off...
Do you think it would be safe to run it on the hose with 2 of the bolts missing? You cant tell they are missing unless you really look but the Lower Unit wont budge a bit! I have heard of people running them on the water without all the bolts but I want to be safe.
