Hi, I was out the other day rolling along at 4 grand on the tach. Then get this spun a prop feeling.??? Then am stuck cant go anywhere. It's like in neutral. Put in gear with the boat out of water and prop spins. Prop hub looks ok. Put gear shifter in forward and prop shaft still spins with a little play so sounds like a gear in there may be broken. Any help here is greatly appreciated. I't also looks like a lot of the gear oil blew out the exhaust too. Probally blew a seal in there somewhere. It seems to me like I am in for a total rebuild. I dont have the tool to take the gears out but can take the lower unit off. I will probally turn it over to my local merc shade tree guy and am wondering what the big picture is first, besides bling bling$$$ anyone got a spare 30inch xxl lower unit. 94 mecury carbed. 2.5 liter. Thanks.
