I have a glass boat (13') which has some gel coat worn away from being on a bunk trailer, I imagine the carpet must have got abrasive. Anyway there are no big grooves as such, will gell coat mix stick and if there is no chip as such how thick do I leave the layer before sanding back through to the glass?
Also if Im outside doing this, is a fiberglass dust mask ok to use? I cant afford an expensive mask right now as just lost my job so even $30 is important money. I realise a respirator mask would be ideal, but I just cant afford one and need to get this fix done immediately.
