hi everyone,

i just bought a 17 feet (probably a mako) which im going to completly redo.

im looking for alternatives to gelcoat as paint for the floor as the gelcoat seems to be hard to clean and gets dirty very easy.

im also redoing the whole center console, i was wonder which kind of paint is the best to make it look the best, i heard that the same paint as used for refrigerators may be the best.

what paint is the best for the outside hull, i want it to look as new, nice and shiny.

for everyones amusement i have also added a picture of the boat, as i bought it, if anyone can tell me if its really a make i would be very happy.

thanks a lot in advance for any help

Re: gel coat alternatives + paint

hey los girngos dad..

welcome to i boats!....

im not sure what kind of craft that is .....but it sure looks like fun....

hadraza did a resto on one simmelar.....

as far as the gellcoat looking dirty (on the floor) its the little bumps in the coat that attract the dirt...(non slip surface)

that will be the toughest finish...gellcoat really stands up well. id just pressure wash it.

if you realy want to paint it. i dont know if id use a arcrilic enamel.

a paint called immeron....is uasually the choice.....
but if your putting any paint on a floor..be prepaired to do it every few years

again
welcome to i boats
