gel coat crack

brought the boat out of winter today, looked under it and found a crack in the gel coat. does not look to be into the fiberglass. ive used epoxy on cracks before, but cant remember what kind. also, should i use a small drill bit on the end of the crack to stop it from spreading? or should i try something else?
