gel coat is gone and I see fiber underneath boat

1984 Bayliner Capri. I powerwashed it friday, and noticed that the gel coat chipped away under neath, near the front, right on the ridge. This is underneath the water when the boat is in the slip. I can see the fiberglass underneath. How can I determine if it is worth fixing? Can I fix it? How do I fix it?

massimofonance,<br /><br />Any damage below the waterline is worth fixing.<br /><br />Make sure it is just a chip and not a fracture of some kind. There are lots of gelcoat repair kits, that can be purchased at west-marine, boat-us, or here at the marine mega mall.<br /><br />I wouldn't let a potential hole develop.<br /><br />Peace.<br /><br />Ed.
