I have a few scratches/gouges to repair on my boat. What is the best type of gelcoat to work with. My experience in the past with these repairs is that the gelcoat was difficult to work with because it was too runny and drippy. Do they make a gel coat that is a little more putty like that can be "trowled" in place and have it stay put, say more the consistency of a putty or caulk?

Re: Gelcoat questions

You would mix in fumed silaca to thicken the gelcoat to your requirements before adding the catalyst. Brand names of cabosil or aerosil are common. A very light white powder. Can usually buy where you get your gelcoat.
