I am doing some preventative maintenance and have noticed that the caulking on some of my gelcoat seams is dry and flaking. What should I use to reseal these areas? They are all above the water line. Is 5200 right for these areas, or is there a better product? Thanks.

5200 would be a good choice if you need strength. The sealant is more for permanent bonding. There are better choices if you dont need the strength.Where exactly are you replacing the sealant?? Charlie

Re: Gelcoat Seams

I am basically doing all the seams where the gunnels and decks meet, windshield, pretty much all the seams. Strength is not a concern, it is more for preventing water intrusion.
