GEN II shift cable question

I installed a new shift cable today and put the drive back on useing manual section 14a4<br /><br />The manual says to do it like this unless you have commander 3000 which of corse i have :) <br /><br />It is a 3.0 OF550867 with the shift components mounted on the valve cover and has shift assist<br /><br />The orginal cable was adjusted to 6-1/4 inches were the manual says to set it at 6 inches<br /><br />The new cable seems to also be correct at 6-1/4 i just want to sure i am not missing something ?<br /><br /><br />It gets full engagemant in forward and reverse with no noise in netural and the shift cutout roller is staying centered <br /><br /><br />thanks<br />tommays

On the muffs, the shift interrupt system should never need to work, and the roller should always be centered. If it's going full in gear both directions, then head to the water. With water on the prop, it could change and need a bit if tweaking to get just right. Usually it don't. <br />Check it when the boat is in the water and at the dock, if it works, go boating.
