I did a search on the topic but wasn't able to find what I am looking for. If there is a topic already started please point me in the right direction!

General outboard Maintenance...

I pretty much spend my time on the water in saltwater. After every outing I flush the engine with fresh water. Every couple of outings I look at the lower unit oil, spark plugs, compression, battery and generally look over everything to see if there is anything I should take a deeper look into.

Is there a "checklist" of things that are a good idea for general upkeep?

Re: General Maintenance

sounds like you are doing pretty good. much more than most. but it will pay off in the long run. only addition i would add is to grease the fittings. there is one hidden, you have to tilt the motor up to find it.

Re: General Maintenance

Are the fittings you speak of the ones with the little grease nipples? Or are there more to keep an eye on?

Thanks!
