Made what i thought to be a decent trade for a 1993 15hp evinrude SS. traded an old 3 wheeler and a 71 johhnson 6 running good for it. Just had the chance to look it over real good this past weekend, and it's very clean. have no idea if it was winterized, so i at least drained and re-filled the lower to make sure there was no water to freeze in it. Had NO sign of water..Just blackened oil from lack of changing. Compression is at 135 each cyl. Prop looks new. Looks like the 93 was a transition year to go with more plastic. Really just looking for opinions on the motor. I have had older J/E's but nothing this new. Any parts availability issues, or horror stories apparent with the newer style? Truthfully, as much as i love the old ones, i am getting tired of re-building 56-57 vintage..This year i want to be trouble free out there. EDIT

Re: general question..

good motor, a little tedious to work on because of tight spaces, but do able. parts are available.
