Hi,
I have a 1988 Silverton conv. w/ twin gas crusaders and a genset under the rear deck. There doesn't seem to be a seperate blower for the genset, is this normal?
My Silverton is exactly like yours, and no, I don't have a separate blower for the genset, which is located between the gas tanks below the center hatch in the cockpit.
Funny, the installation was certified by a Kohler technician but, now that you mention it, sounds like a VERY good idea.
-Yet another thing added to my spring "to-do" list!
If it is in "shared airspace" with the main bilge then it does not require it's own blower and your setup is normal. However, if it is in a seperate compartment then it requires seperate ventiliaion.

Well in my case all 3 bilges are all joined by scuppers, and the bulkhead between the engines and generator looks a bit like swiss cheese with a variety of hoses and wires passing thru fairly large holes.
While I think my blower does ventilate everything pretty well, IMO it makes a lot of sense to add another.
The opperative word was require. I certainly agree with you and the more is better theory when it comes to ventilation. If I were in your position I would probably add a small secondary blower as well.
