Been thinkin about getting one but after doing some looking, I can't believe how many different model there are. Which one is the best (if any) for a small family?

I had one of the original big white ones and it worked great, worked so great that a "friend" decided to take it over . It was a hand me down from my mother when I lived in my apartment.

Now a days my mother has a newer silver one that you can adjust the temp on. Both the old one that I had and the one that my mother has will cook a steak in no time, burgers are quick also. You might as well get a big counter top model while your at it.

Good investment......Go for it........What are you waiting for??:D:D

Get the one with the various interchangeable plates.

They are very handy.

My grill does not have these and I wish it did. Cleaning is easier with them as well.

Might buy one on boxing day if I can find one on sale cheap.

Makes it easy to clean, and the plates are dishwasher friendly also. My mom's GFG has this feature, it also has a timer on it.

Good size and versatility with the counter model.
Easy cleaning. Nobody likes cleaning an oven, and I just got informed
that I am not to bake any pizzas anymore in the oven.
I was just starting to like Wally pizzas.

Can't go wrong with a Geo Fo. ;)

Use ours when it is not BBQ season. Works fine but is just a pain to store when not in use so we forget about it for a while now and then as it is in a "special place"

Re: George Foreman grill??

For my wife Xmas present, I sometimes play a little trick on her. This year her gift is a certificate for tickets to a local dinner theater. I collaborated with a husband of a friend of hers so that we could go together (nice gift AND thoughtful).

The trick is that what she will open is a GF family grill. She told me before we were married that appliances are off limits as gifts. So I will play it up like this is the real thing and let her look happy and encourage her to open it so she will see the certificate.

The kids get into it too.

Besides I wanted to get one of these.

I broke down and bought one of the 5 in 1 models. Learned that I dont use anything but the grill and all that other stuff is just something you have to find room to store. Just get the simple model.

Thanks for all the input. I think I'll go with the basic but with the removeable plate for easier cleaning.

Get the biggest one that your pocket and counter space can afford. Very convienience and versatile gadget, you won't regret it. What else can you cook bacon with and not having to wear a shirt?

I got one while going to school and cooked everything on it. It is in the cupboard now and has been for several years. I think I will get it out today and cook something on it.

Same here. :D It has been a permanent fixture on my counter ever since. I have gone through several units since the glory days.
