Looks pretty bad and I was wondering how our forum friends in that area are doing.

Well they can use the water from what I've seen/heard.
Just not so much at one time!
My heart goes out to them.:(

Re: Georgia Flooding

On the bright side of this ordeal: Lake Hartwell is nearing full pool and I guess Lake Lanier is over flowing. This time last year they both were disastrously low.
Feast or famine.............

Most of the lakes just North of Atlanta are above full pool or very near, last I heard on Lanier it was very near, probably has made it by now. I know some folks up there, they were okay but had to drive miles out of their way to get to and from home and work. Mike on the weather channel had water in his basement and some of his neighbors were flooded out. It is really bad there right now.

Re: Georgia Flooding

I talked to a person from georgia today that lives just south of the bad flooding. She said she rode by an area where there was a large RV dealer and all she could see was the top of dozens of brand new motor homes and campers..........Man thats a waste.

I'll bet the dealer was yelling "Yipee!"...right before he got on the phone to the insurance company. He was sitting on inventory that probably hasn't moved for a year..

Re: Georgia Flooding

Talk about a yo yo effect:
Last winter lake Hartwell was 23' below full pool. In the spring it went to 4' below full pool because of heavy spring rains and less water release by the COE. A couple of weeks ago it was reaching 8' below. Then the floods came in the Northern parts of GA and SC and it is now around 3' below full pool.
Really highlights the weather guessers incompetence. I can't think of any long term forecast that predicted these flooding rains. Everyone I saw was forecasting a very dry September
