Get the most of a Bayliner 175

I bought my first boat a few years back and found that I love being on the water. I also found that I am very glad to have purchased a low maintenance boat that, well, allows me to be on the water. I have a 2003 Bayliner 175. All stock parts except a bow cleat. Any ideas on how to improve:

1) Acceleration, particularly with skier
2) Ride in rough water
3) Anything else

I'm thinking about a steal prop designed with more torque than top speed, a K&N air intake, and sandbag in the front end.

If all else fails, any good ideas for a good used 21 footer :D?

Cheers

for better power skiing you need a bigger engine. sounds like its time to move up to the next boat there are some great deals out there right now but also don't expect to get top dollar for your boat in this market.

smart tabs for ride improvement and hole shot.
4-blade lower pitched prop for hole shot and midrange acceleration.

The intake has to be USCG approved spark arrestor. automotive intake kits wont be legal or safe. Unless KN makes a marine intake, but not that I know of yet. a very important safety issue to keep in mind.....Also trim tabs will help the most with pulling a skiier up on plane quickly, no need for sandbags. and the whole boat will ride 10x better.

I have a 2005 bayliner 175. I installed a hull guard and will say it improved the ride 10x in rough water.
