Gettin' ready to start on this old Hurricane

So I think I want to seperate the deck from the hull, rather than just cutting out the interior floor. That way I can check everything stem to stern. What is the best way to do this? Does anyone know what kind of adhesive was used. Do I try to heat it with something like a heat-shrink gun, or do I cut with something like a dremel? Acetone? Maybe a little of everything...

Do you have a rub Rail? If so pull the rubber and you will find hundreds of rivets or screws to remove. the top cap can then be removed. It might be "Tabbed" to the hull but doubtful. Pics would be helpful.

Sorry, no pics right now. My digital camera has been, ah, misplaced. The rub rail has been removed, leaving, as you said, hundreds of little screws. My question was, do you use something like acetone to loosen the glue(?) holding the 2 pieces of the hull together? From the response I got, I should be able to seperate the deck after removing those screws, which I plan on doing this w/e. I just assumed the 2 parts were glued/sealed to prevent water from getting in.
