Re: GETTING 12 VOLT POWER FROM OUTBOARD

First, you need an engine specific service manual for your engine. The electrical diagrams would answer your question about where to connect. You didn't give us any information on the HP or model of this engine or what you have for batteries and how they are connected so we can't give you any positive answers. What I can tell you however, is that since this is obviously a smaller outboard, and if it has a charging system, it will have very little capacity and therefore you would have to run wide open for hours to put any meaningful charge on the battery. Look at it this way, -- if you fish for one hour with a five amp draw on the battery from your accessories, and you have a 5 amp charging system, you would have to run wide open for an hour to replenish the battery. If you need emergency power, buy a smaller jump start unit available at most auto stores for $30 - $50 bucks depending on capacity, or another battery.
