I recently bought a used pontoon with a Mercury outboard.
It came with one key, and considering my track record for holding on to keys, I really ought to have a spare.
Any ideas how to get a duplicate? The toon is a Sun Tracker.

I'd try your local lock smith. They can cut keys for most any thing. I refuse to get keys cut at walmart lowes or home depot. They just don't cut good keys.

See if the key has a number on it. A Merc dealer can sell you one. There are only about 10 different keys. They are ususally in stock....

Key has a laminated tracker cover which is probably covering the number.
I guess I need to stop in at Bass Pro.
I had asked at Home Depot about cutting one, but they said they could not do it.
Thanks for the replies.

Go to a local hardware store - one with a person that cuts keys. Boat keys are usually common and can be easily matched by someone who has a little experience. Should be ~ $1.50 or so.
