Getting decals off sterndrive?

Can anyone tell me the easiest way to get the decals off my sterndrive?

Yup...3M makes an eraser wheel that fits on a drill. It's made for taking off pin-striping and decals. This will do the job!

Yep, that's what I'm doing, as we speak, for vinyl logo decals on my Toyota Van. You can use a credit card to start the peeling. Just don't leave the credit card directly in front of the heat.<br /><br />When finished I will use some 3M adhesive remover to remove the residual glue. I'm not sure if it would be applicable on gelcoat but I'm sure that you could find out.<br /><br />As to the eraser wheel, as I mentioned in another post, it works great on some surfaces and will tear up (melt) others.
