Bought a boat with a 2009 Merc 90 4 stroke. Tank was full of two year old gas.
I got got most of it out and filled with stabilized premium gas. Fired up and ran with a come-and-go bog. But it ran full speed at first. But then it went into what felt like Limp Mode.
Got it onto he trailer and after inspection found the air filter was totally oiled up and ready to fall apart. I don’t think any got in the throttle body... I hope. I’ll get the new style filter, and I’m also going to change the high and low pressure fuel filters.
Can anyone suggest any any thing else to clean or change etc? Is there a VST filter on these?
