getting ready after sitting for two years

i have recently acquired a 22' sun tracker party barge with a 3.0 mercruiser alpha one. i'm an outboard guy-have never owned an inboard powered boat. now besides pumping out the 30 gallons of gas that has been sitting in it for two years, what else should i do/check out on this engine before i take her out? she's a beautiful boat, only 3 or 4 years old...

Mmmm. Only 3 or 4 years old.

Change the lower unit grease.

Complete tune up including fuel filters and plugs and of course oil and oil filter change.

If ethenol fuel has been sitting in her, you may need to change all rubber hoses and fittings. And you may need to rebuild carbs if so equipped.
