My boat has bolt holes on the back from where the original motor was mounted Im guessing. It looks like they are plugged with regular silicone. Id like to fill them in so that they arent noticeable. Whats the best way to fix these? Do I have to use fiberglass tape and resin on these small holes?

Hi,
I assume it is a glasfiber boat.
I would drill up the holes so not any trace of silicone left. Then use Acetone and make sure not a singel trace of solicone is left. Fill the holes with epoxy (use tape on one side and fill the holes and then use tape over the other side of the holes also to get no spill and an even surface. After it has cured you remove the tape and use some wet sandpaper to prepare it for final paint (2-component preferably) in a color that match the color around the area (transom) where the holes are.

best to drill out holes with a spade bit to a common dowel rod size diameter..

cut dowel a few mm's shy..

epoxy up GOOD.. transom an dowel ..

insert dowel to just below flush surface..

let cure..

marine-tex the 'divet' to flush surface..

clean up with vinegar..
